Love@Work
Birth of a Project
How love@work came about
On Friday 28 July 2006 at approximately 4pm, while seated at the Divine Lotus Feet of our Beloved Bhagavan, one of His Australian children, with boldness and deepest sincerity asked Him:
Swami, what is your mission for us in Australia?
Bhagavan's response was instant, clear and direct:
I just want your Love, Love, Love.
On our return to Australia, many of us threw ourselves into the rat race that had been our lives before our journey into the Abode of Supreme Peace. Assignments, projects, deadlines, long days, traffic, meetings, expectations, salaries, pressure! Could we ever break free to respond to Swami's call?
Our Divine Mother - who loves us more than anyone, sensed our frustration and couldn't bear our pain. He spoke to us again, this time through the pages of RadioSai's Heart2Heart:
You may think, "If every moment is spent in the contemplation of God, how is it possible to do our work?" Do not distinguish between your work and God's work. Your work is God's work because you too are God. It is a mistake to think that all that you do in the prayer hall is God's work and outside it is your work. You should not entertain such feelings of separateness. Consider that your heart is the altar of God and turn your vision inward.
So, we could give Him what He had asked for, through the very places that we thought were entwining us further in maya! We could love Him without even leaving the workplace. Moreover, it was as legitimate a medium as any through which to love Him. Thus, the Love@Work (L@W) programme was born.
How does the program work?

There are 4 formal building blocks: The foundation of the programme is a
system of continuous self-monitoring. It supports the two pillars - nightly
reflection and weekly meeting - atop which rests the weekly e-bulletin. Less
formalised but equally important is the continuous support provided to all
members.
Self Monitoring
The foundation of the L@W programme, the very ground on which the entire programme rests, is self monitoring.
A robust self monitoring system will be continuous, tailored to the specific workplace and individual and provide instant feedback and therefore, spark for improvement, to the user. Thu
The first pillar is nightly self monitoring.
Weekly Meeting
The 2nd pillar of the programme is the weekly hour-long meeting.
This satsang should be conducted in atmosphere of love - compassion, understanding, respect. The hallmark will be the freedom to share any L@W-related experience, including one's lack of practice.
Weekly e-Bulletin
The 4th component of the programme is the weekly, one page e-bulletin.
The bulletin is a reminder of the team's collective efforts of the previous week and may spark fresh approaches amongst practitioners. It is a vehicle to share these experiences with non-L@W SY and others, demonstrating expansion of love.
