Man is Divine
Sai Baba teaches that the divine is the inner within all. We should respect every man and woman; every beast, plant and insect, for the same divine exists within them all. We are three persons—the one others think we are; the one we think we are, and the inner reality, the divine. Life is a journey of discovery and experience of that divinity within.
Many Religions, One Goal
An ancient saying in scriptures tell us that there is only ONE God; the wise know he is called by many different names. Due the cast of mind and difference in interests, Sai Baba teaches that it is inevitable that the different religions have arisen. All teach that there is only one goal, and teach their different paths toward that goal. All religions are therefore worthy of tolerance and our respect.
Selfless Service
Sai Baba teaches that service to man is service to God. We should love and serve our fellow men and women and aid them in their misery and poverty. Selfless service (service offered to the divine in the other) can take many forms, visits to the aged, feeding the hungry, medical camps, breakfast clubs, mowing lawns, visiting the ill in hospitals, etc. Sai Baba teaches that we should Love All, Serve All, and Help ever, Hurt never. These are the highest teachings found in the scriptures of our religions.
Human Values
Human values are guides to behaviour, essences, experiences upon which we reflect and derive motives for action. Sages and divines have ascertained the highest of these values, and given them as guides for true humaness, which leads to a life of equanimity and peace. These values are innate within every person; truth, right conduct, love, peace and non violence. Practice of these values leads to harmony in life and attainment of life's purpose. Sai Baba teaches that we should integrate and practice these values of truth, right conduct, love, peace and non-violence.
Integrity
Sai Baba says we should have unity between Head, Hand and Heart. Unity between Head, Hand and Heart is integrity. There should be a truthful alignment between what we think, what we say, and what we do. This is true humaness, living and acting with integrity. The voice of our conscience is the voice of the Divine within. Our integrity is our character.
If there is righteousness in the heart, there will be beauty in the character.
If there is beauty in the character, there will be harmony in the home.
If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation.
When there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world.
