Love All, Serve All,
Help Ever, Hurt Never Sathya Sai Baba
You will Witness ...
On the 23rd of October 1961, Sathya Sai Baba told the following:
You will witness this Puttaparthi becoming the birthplace of Krishna
(Mathura Nagara); No one can stop this development or delay it. I will not give
you up, nor can any one of you give Me up. Even if you lose faith, you will
repent and come to this refuge very soon, clamouring for admission. I shall be
in this body for 58 years more; I have assured you of this already. Your lives
are intertwined with My Earthly Career. Act always in accordance with that
great privilege,
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India, has written an appreciation of Sathya Sai Baba's contributions to society and education - in a measured manner that shows how Swami is providing the restoration of righteousness (dharma) on a firm footing.

Notice by Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust
- Baba's Medical Condition
- Media Reports
- Worldwide Response by Devotees
The series of daily medical bulletins issued by the Director of the Super Specialty Hospital, Puttaparthi, has been giving the health status of Sathya Sai Baba from time to time. In spite of the best treatment given to Him, in consultation with leading doctors in India and abroad and also the teams of doctors deputed by the Governement of Andhra Pradesh, Baba's health condition has deteriorated. The bulletins issued by the Director have been mentioning the names of prominent specialist doctors who had been called in for consultation from time to time and also the response of Baba's vital organs to the treatment. The information in the Director's bulletins is in accordance with medical ethics.
While the response of the vital organs have been varying - good on certain days, sluggish on other days - the improvement has been generally slow. During the last 24 hours, Baba's health condition has deteriorated further, causing concern.
CERTAIN REPORTS IN THE MEDIA:
It is unfortunate that at a time when we are facing a grave crisis, there has been a series of calumnious reports by a couple of newspapers. Some news channels of electronic media are also indulging in sensational and totally false reporting. The reports contain absolutely false, unsubstantiated allegations imputing financial irregularities, defaulting of funds, commission of illegalities, violation of laws, denial of proper food and nutrition to Baba by the Hospital and wrongfully holding Him in confinement, etc. Sensational and mischievous headlines are being employed.
The above allegations are totally false, motivated and are made with sole objective of creating confusion in the minds of public and the devotees in particular, as well as defaming the trustees and the Secretary of the Trust, who are distinguished themselves in public life, and have been handpicked and appointed by Sri Sathya Sai Baba Himself. All these allegations are attempts to defame Sathya Sai Baba and His institutions, which have been rendering yeomen service to humanity in an exemplary manner for several decades.
Suitable legal action will be initiated against the offenders of law at the appropriate time. All of us are preoccupied and deeply concerned that Sathya Sai Baba's health should return to healthy condition. No other concern, no other thought is at present in the minds of the trustees and all the devotees at this point of time.
We strongly appeal to the general public not to be misled by such outrageous efforts but be firm in their resolve and faith in Sathya Sai Baba and pray for His speedy recovery.
RESPONSE OF ADMIRERS AND DEVOTEES OF Baba:
There has been a ground swell of prayers, bhajans, yagnas all over the world praying for Baba's health. Mass processions comprising people of different faiths - Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and all others - are being conducted in various parts of India and abroad. There has been a 48 hour continuous devotional singing in a Sikh Temple in New Delhi with participants from all faiths. Email messages are pouring in from all over the world praying for Baba's speedy recovery.
The trustees and the members of the council of management, including the Secretary of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust deeply appreciate and are gratified by the strong and vigorous support extended to, and the confidence expressed in them, by one and all.
Signed by the trustees of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust.
Evening Medical Bulletin released by Director, SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram at 1700 hrs. reads:
Sathya Sai Baba continues to be in a very critical state of health.
There is very poor response from the vital organs of the body to the treatment. The intermittent episodes of low blood pressure are persisting indicating that the heart is quite weak.
The parameters of the functioning of the various organs of the body are also erratic. Every attempt is being made to keep them in the normal limits by the administration of appropriate drugs.
The breathing is still assisted by the ventilator. One successful cycle of low haemodialysis was conducted during the past 12 hours to assist the kidney functioning.
Doctors are continuing vigorous efforts to make the vital organs recommence their function.
Discourse 3 July 1993:
"In regard to every matter, my thoughts are always sublime and exemplary. You must note that Swami's life is in His own hands and not in those of anyone else. If I will it, I can live for as long as I please. I can also terminate it at will. It is my will that decides and not any other person. The reason is My purity, selflessness, and divinity. What other testimony is called for? The life of the pure hearted is in their own hands and not in those of others." Discourse, 3 July 1993

Sathya Sai Baba speaks on the Intense Prayers of his devotees

Here is the transcript of the above video:
Nobody needs to be worried or anxious about Swami's wellbeing. No danger can ever befall Swami. Swami will always come out of all difficulties and troubles unscathed; none need to fear or feel sorry or sad. Swami will achieve all success. However, there may be some changes at the physical level because of the food, environment, etc. These however are only temporary and not permanent. Hence, Swami expects you to be always courageous.
What is My medicine? The intense prayers of the devotees are My medicine. During this period, be it in Madras (now Chennai), Hyderabad, Bangalore, or Mumbai, devotees have intensified their prayers and spiritual activities. There are bhajans and namasmarana conducted in each and every home. Some devotees undertook penance and performed yajnas. In this manner, a number of spiritual activities were undertaken praying for the wellbeing of Swami. It is as a result of such fervent prayers that I am able to stand before you and address you today.
Neither did I want this suffering nor did I desire its cure. You wanted this body to be cured of the pain, and you achieved it through your prayers. This body is not Mine. It is yours. Hence, it is your responsibility to look after this body. I am not the deha (body); I am the Dehi (Indweller).
The body is made up of five elements
And is bound to perish sooner or later,
But the Indweller has neither birth nor death.
The Indweller has no attachment whatsoever
And is the Eternal Witness.
Truly speaking, the Indweller,
Who is in the form of the Atma,
Is verily God Himself.
Doctors made every possible effort to protect this body; they did their duty. I however did not think of this body at all. I demonstrate the ideal that one should not have body attachment. Not only now, for the last two years, I have been repeatedly exhorting you to give up body attachment. Gradually reduce your dehabhimana (body consciousness) and develop Atmabhimana (Atmic consciousness). You are not the body; you are the embodiments of the Atma. The physical body comes and goes. Only the body has suffering, not the Atma.
I have never used My divine power to cure Myself. If I were to use it, I would have been cured of the suffering in a trice. I don't have the selfish feeling that I should get cured. There is not even a trace of selfishness in Me. Everyone should be happy. This is My only desire. - Extracts from Divine Discourse delivered on July 13, 2003.

Here is the transcript of the above Video:
Many people including those who are sitting here have entertained many thoughts and wild imaginations. Actually, there is no truth in it. Irrespective of what anybody might say, it is the newspapers which are mainly responsible for so much restlessness. They are interested in publicizing that which is bad and not sharing that which is good. What is the purpose of a newspaper? It has to collect NEWS from four sides - North, East, West, and South - and disseminate the same. Instead of gathering authentic information, newspapers today present facts according to their feelings and imaginations.
In my opinion, any newspaper or journalist should report the event as it has occurred. What is the need to spread that news which is untruth and unauthentic? They distort the truth to present it in a sensational manner only to make money. What a shame it is to earn money in this spurious fashion!
You should report the event as it has happened, be it good or bad. Do not imagine and spread false news. Next, comes TV. Television channels too seem to be always engaged in spreading false news.
In fact, one can definitely develop friendship with those who report the truth. What is the use of talking to those who publicize untruth? Spreading untruth is a sin. If you speak untruth once, you will have to face its consequences for many births. Such being the case, you can very well imagine the fate of those who indulge in untruth hundreds of times every day. How erroneous it is to report something as being absent when it is actually present? It is not right to make a mountain of a mole and hurt the sentiments of so many from all over the globe. It is a sin to spread false news. - Extracts from Divine Discourse delivered on January 19, 2002
