Welcome to Newcomers!
We welcome all newcomers and enquirers about Sai Baba to this website and to the Sathya Sai Organisation. We hope you will find the following information a useful aid to understanding the purpose and activities of our organisation.
Who We Are
The Sathya Sai Organisation is made up of spiritual seekers from all walks of life, from all creeds, faiths and religions. We welcome all into our organisation irrespective of faith, station in life or socioeconomic status. Our welcome to each and all is extended with love, as Sathya Sai Baba himself guides each and every seeker to his or her place in our organisation. We follow a code of conduct and set of principles for the conduct of our lives, which has been given by Sai Baba. You can go to the the Code of Conduct.
What We do
Our Charter (given to us by Sathya Sai Baba), directs us to provide opportunities and activities which will enable participants to discover the inherent divinity within ourselves and in every other person. To this end, we provide spiritual activities (devotional singing and study circles), service activities (service to the poor, the needy and the aged) and educational activities (Education in Human Values) for children.
In the main, we come together as spiritual seekers to sing our devotion to God, singing to many different names and forms that God is worshipped by. We meet, sing, study spiritual texts and education in human values, and have spiritual company together.
What to Expect
We have several centres for Newcomers. These centres meet monthly, in central locations. At a typical Newcomers Centre, we conduct the following program:
- Silent Sitting (3 minutes)
- 5 English songs (led by children, youth and adults)
- Quotes from major religions on love
- Quote from Sathya Sai Baba on Love
- Meditation - very relaxed type (every one likes it).
- Peace prayer
- Speaker and discussion
- Conclude with announcements
- Refreshments and informal gathering. ( Cake, Tea & Coffee)
