Fiji Medical Camp - Re-Registration of Medical and Dental Practitioners



Fiji has enacted legislation requiring re-registration of all medical and dental practioners. Registration is now required annually

Registration from doctors and dental practitioners taking part in Sai MediCare camps in previous years is NO LONGER VALID and all need to fill out the new form and register on an annual basis.

Fiji Medical Camp - 20 to 28th August 2011



Members of Sai Medical Unit of Sri Sathya Sai Organisation of Australia and PNG have been doing voluntary free medical service in rural Fiji for last four years. The team from Australia has been supported by members of Sai organisation and well wishers in Australia. The Australian team has been made up from members from various states. Members of Sathya Sai Service Organisation Fiji have supported and organised local needs for the team. Thus this is a united service project inspired by the works of Sathya Sai Baba.

The total number of members participating in the 2011 Sai Medical Camp will be 40-45 individuals comprising of medical professionals and general volunteers. There will be selection process if a great number of individuals register for this camp. Registration officially closes on 30 March 2011. This may close early if there are sufficient registrations.

A team will leave on Saturday 20 August 2011 from Australia and return on Sunday the 28th August 2011. All the members will be required to fill a registration form. Medical and Dental practitioners will need to be registered with Fiji Medical Council. Those who have been registered in the past will need to complete the re-registration form only.

Members of the team will be made up with Medical Practitioners (GP and any speciality), Dental practitioners, Dental prosthetist, Nurses, Optometrists, Physiotherapist, Pharmacists, IT skills, Management skills and general volunteers. All the members will travel at their own expense and contribute towards local travel, accommodation and incidental expense. In past some of the medications, provided free to the patients, have been purchased from local pharmaceutical suppliers. These have been financed by voluntary donation by the members of Sai organisation Australia, Fiji and well wishers.

Those who would like to join this service project - Love in Action, can register their interest by downloading the forms and emailing or posting to the address contained therein.

Any well-wisher who would like to support the project by way donation of medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, hospital beds, and other forms of support are advised to contact Dr Gunu Naker directly.

Registration Form - Medical, Dental, Pharmaceutical, Nursing and allied medical volunteers and volunteers

Travel Details - General Travel and Accommodation form to be completed by applicants.

These forms to be returned to Anurag Prasad. Email address and postal mail are on the form itself.

All costs which include travel, food and accommodation associated with the trip need be paid by each team member.
