Australian Sai Medical Services Unit - Fiji Medical Camp - 12th to 18th July 2008

The Australian Sai Medical Services Unit in collaboration with the Sathya Sai Organisation of Fiji has planned another medical camp from 12th to 18th July 2008. Medical personnel would leave for Fiji on the 11th July and return on the 20th July 2008.

Inaugural Medical Conference

During this period there will also be sn inaugural Medical Conference at the University of Fiji on 12 July 2008. Five members of the Sai Medical Unit will present on information to medical professionals at the University of Fiji. This will also include an address on Sai Medicare. Medical Camp Overview

This project will be managed by the Australian Sai Medical Services Unit and the aim is to have a 25 to 30 member team with various sub-specialties (pharmacists, dentists, optometrists, physiotherapists, nurses, alternative medicine specialists) to enhance the quality of the services provided.

All costs which include travel, food and accommodation associated with the trip need be paid by each team member.

In June 2007, medical personnel from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and United States jointly provided the much needed service for large masses of people in the most rural and remote areas in Fiji at makeshift medical centres. They were able to attend to the needs of about 4500 patients. Details of this medical services camp are available at the following links:
