The Sai Medical Unit is a service activity of the Sathya Sai Organisation
of Australia. Members of the Sai medical unit are doctors, nurses, dentists, aides,
any others who volunteer service with this unit.
The Sai Medical Unit has prepared a small collection of sayings by Baba
to various healthcare professionals. This also includes citations from
a videotape of a discourse at the Second Cardiac Conference; you may
read this small guide to heathcare professionals.
Mission Statement
- To discover and follow Sathya Sai Baba's teachings, directives and example for the promotion of health;
- To search out and serve in areas of need for the health and wealth of people in Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Overseas;
- To create and encourage opportunities for service for health professionals in or affiliated with the Sai Organisation;
The Sai Medical Unit conducts the following activities
Australian Projects
- Collection, donation and despatch of medical equipment and medicines;
- Medical and Dental camps
- Workshops on Health and Spirituality
- Ayurvedic Awareness Talks and retreats
- Stress management courses
- First Aid facilities at Sai Conferences
- Prenatal Classes
- CPR Training
- Blood Donation
- Maintaining an interest in complementary medicine, including Ayurveda, Homeopathy and acupuncture, and provide workshops on same.
International Projects
- Providing skills by doctors, dentists, nurses and other paramedical devotees at Swami's General Hospitals during festival times or at the Super Speciality Hospitals.
- Providing equipment and consumable medical supplies to these hospitals.This has been carried out and will continue.
- Providing medical equipment and consumables to areas of need in India, Sri Lanka, Fiji and Papua New Guinea.
- Projects in Fiji in collaboration with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Fiji-Australia Association in Canberra, as established. This has provided neurosurgical service to Fiji.
International Medical Conference
An International Sai Medical Conference was held in Annaheim, CA, USA, on the 10th-11th of October 2009. This conference produced a book on the Global Sai Heath Mission. You may read more and dowload this book here
Australian Sai Medical Services Unit - Fiji Medical Camp - 18 to 26th August 2012

2010
The Sai Medical Unit conducted the annual Medical Camp in Fiji during the period 15 - 22 August 2010. 35 medical personnel from Australia traveled to Fiji and were joined by medical practitioners and medical students from Fiji. You can read a preliminary report on the 2010 Fiji Medical Camp page.
2009
2009 was the third year of free medical services which were provided over the period Monday 17th August to Friday 21st August 2009 in the rural areas of Viti Levu by volunteers from Australia and Fiji as a service project of the Sri Sathya Sai Service Organisation. 2008
The Sai Medical Unit conducted a Medical Camp in Fiji during the period 12-18 July 2008. There was also be a symposium on Sai Healthcare and other health issues, which was conducted at the University of Fiji. Five members of the Sai Medical Camp team presented to the Symposium. 2007
A joint Medical Camp in association with the Sai Organisation of New Zealand and doctors from the Goodwill Foundation (USA) was conducted in Fiji from 15 - 23 June 2007. There is a full report, video and photo album of this joint Medical Camp. See the 2007 Medical Camp page for more information.
