Sathya Sai Baba with ladies, Puttaparthi

Love@Home Program

The aim of this program is to increase the awareness amongst us Ladies as to the unique role we women play. Swami expects us Ladies to lead the transformation starting with ourselves and then into our homes and society.

Why Love@Home for Sai Ladies?

Swami has said in many Ladies Day discourses that it the primary duty of the woman to look after her home. Peace and Harmony in the Home ensures peace in the world.

  • Swami has often said no matter what we may achieve in the outside world if there is no joy in the Home then life becomes veritable Hell. It is the duty of the woman to make the home heaven itself.
  • Swami says start the day with Love. Home is where we begin our day. Home is where we regroup after a day's toil. What better way to start and end the day than in a Home filled with Love.
  • Unlike our mothers most of us Sai Ladies are working outside the home quite often in competitive and demanding workplaces. Balancing duties at home and work with very little domestic help can be stressful and brings in several issues like physical and mental health, issues with child rearing etc. It is time we Sai sisters come together and help each other out with suggestions as to how to preserve the love and harmony in the home under these circumstances.
  • Home is the foundation where the future generation is raised. To instill in the minds of the young the value of prayer, humility, and loving service to others, the homes have to be the first schools. A virtuous home raises virtuous children.
  • Swami says "The first lesson in service has to be learnt in the family circle itself. Father, mother, brothers, and sisters - in this limited group which is well-knit, one must engage in loving service and prepare for the wider service that awaits outside the home.

How Love@Home?

There are different aspects to this program.

1. Sai Spiritual transformation of women

Aim: We Sai Ladies need to support each other have our own study circles / programs to understand and implement Swami's teachings to lead ideal lives.

2. Bring the love and empowerment to our homes

Aim: We should consciously bring love into our Homes and transform them into beacons of love and light. Transformation must start from our homes and spread outwards.

3. Sharing the experience:

Regular - (Monthly) bulletin containing inspiring articles by women, interview with Sai Ladies, sharing outcomes of our Love@ home sessions.
