Ladies Wing Coordinator's Message, 2005

Sathya Sai Baba with ladies, Puttaparthi
Dear sisters and brothers, we must pause and try to understand all that is unfolding before us. Have we contributed in anyway towards these events? If so, let us now resolve to work towards ensuring that we are creating a better world, where we love all, we do not pollute the atmosphere by our anger, jealously, envy etc. Let us work towards Unity of not only on a personal level but towards Unity in family, society and the world. Let us purify ourselves so that the environment around us in return is pure and clean. In the clean unpolluted environment, we will have a clearer vision and thus understand the purpose of our being. This should be our new years resolve.

Ladies Wing Coordinator's Message, 2004

Sathya Sai Baba with ladies, Puttaparthi
Dear sisters and brothers, please stop, think and understand the reasons for doings things and if, there is a better way of doing them.
We find it very difficult to acknowledge our love, and at times, even to our partners, let alone others. Not only this, the recipients themselves are uncomfortable/ embarrassed when someone expresses their love to them. Why? Because we have not yet understood love in its true sense. We have categorised love to a very shallow meaning which expands only to our immediate family, rather then something pure, divine and wholesome.

Ladies Wing Coordinator's Letter № 1
As a woman, it is natural for us
to nurture, support, soothe,
comfort and nourish others.
We were born with this ability
and it is an integral and wonderful
part of being a woman.
It has been my personal experience however, that we all must sometimes turn that energy inward at times, and treat ourselves with the same care we give others. It is important that we use our own resources to also serve ourselves.

The Forbearance of Draupadi

Summmer Showers in the Blue Mountains, 1976
Herewith an extract from Summer Showers in the Blue Mountains, 1976 where
Sathya Sai Baba gave the Summer Course in Spirituality and Indian Culture to
College Students in Ootacamund (Ooty). It is said that these talks revealed
hitherto unknown human aspects of Lord Krishna, and worthy of reading if one
wishes to understand some of the human acts of this avatara.
Chapter 8, entitled 'Man should promote inner vision', it is inner vision that
enables man and woman to handle the vissicitudes of life with nobility. The
following account is an extract of this chapter, when Ashwatthama (who had
slain all Draupadi's children) was brought before Draupadi. Draupadi sets an
admirable example of nobility for modern women to emulate. Read Women and

Role of the Mother

a yellow rose, Sai Kulwant Hall, Prashanti Nilayam
Gayathri is the mother of the Vedas, and of all creation. The Gayathri principle can be sub-divided into the following four components:
Sathyavathi: The all-pervasive Truth which pervades the entire creation just as butter is present in every drop of milk.
Angavathi: Every person is made up of the five elements. Differences are only in the outer forms. The divinity behind the five elements is the same in all.
Anyavathi: Different forms of the Divine are indicated by corresponding symbols—Rama by the bow, Krishna by the flute or the peacock feather, Sarasvathi by the Veena, Shiva by the damaru (hand-held drum) and Vishnu—by the Shankha (Conch), Chakra (Wheel), Gada (mace) and
Padma (the Lotus Flower). Divine forms have various characteristic symbols but the Divinity is the same in all.
Nidhaanavathi: Nidhaanavathi is represented by the nine paths of devotion, namely—listening, singing, chanting the name of the Lord, service, seva to the Lord's feet, adoration, prayer, friendship with God and surrender to God.
The mother is the first teacher and as compared to male teachers, the teachings of women teachers are better assimilated by students because the latter teach from the heart with love.

The Glory of Woman
Fear of sin has gone
Evil deeds are rampant
Devotion to God is wavering.
To fight these tendencies
Chanting the name of the Lord
Is the only remedy, oh man!
If women go out for jobs
Who will take care of the homes?
If husband and wife go to offices
Who will look after the children?
Earning money may solve some problems
But how will it resolve domestic problems?
Truly speaking, working women
Do not enjoy much happiness

Woman, the Fountain of Human Values
A Mother Moulds her Children
Man is the chosen one in this whole world teeming with millions and millions
of creation. Woman is very superior in the whole creation including man. There
are many examples to prove that woman is really superior. Is it not because of
the boons granted to Kausalya in the form of giving birth to Divine, Rama
became famous and worshipped as God? Is it not by Sita's fostering and rearing
that the twins Kusa and Lava became so great? Again, Shivaji became great and
valorous because of the upbringing of his mother Jijabai. Gandhi gained
reputation and fame because of the encouragement from his mother Putlibai.
Several great Rishis, warriors, various heroes and wicked people as well were
born from the womb of the mother. That mother is the very embodiment of
prakriti - nature.
