Sai Ram Dear Sisters, Brothers and Children

My humble Pranams at the Lotus feet of Swami

In this New Year, let us pray that Swami gives us the gift of understanding life and living it with understanding. We hardly pause in our ceaseless outward-oriented activities to ponder life. We do not pause to stand on the banks and observe life from that point.

The banks do not move; the banks do not change. Constantly the river moves and the waters change. Even for a single second, we are not standing before the same river. The river that was before us one second ago is not there now. What is before us is some other river.

Similarly, with life. We are also ever-changing. If we step out, stand on the bank and observe life, we may get a better understanding about it and its flow. We must stop for a while and ponder life.

Why all this tragedy, pain and suffering? Could it be a reaction to our past actions? Are we partly responsible for this chain of events that is taking place in the World today?

Dear sisters and brothers, we must pause and try to understand all that is unfolding before us. Have we contributed in anyway towards these events? If so, let us now resolve to work towards ensuring that we are creating a better world, where we love all, we do not pollute the atmosphere by our anger, jealously, envy etc. Let us work towards Unity of not only on a personal level but towards Unity in family, society and the world. Let us purify ourselves so that the environment around us in return is pure and clean. In the clean unpolluted environment, we will have a clearer vision and thus understand the purpose of our being. This should be our new years resolve.

Swami has been telling us that there will be a time where we will all be a big family and through the recent tragedy, we have also seen the love and unity of the world. The stone has been cast and it is our responsibility to keep it rolling. Let us do our part and be a beacon of Sai Light in this World.
