The End of Education is Character
-Sathya Sai Baba

Sri Sathya Sai Baba

"Love is the essence of education. Bereft of love, education is artificial." - Sathya Sai Baba (Unity, Purity, Divinity - Educare conference 17 August 2005, Prasanthi Nilayam)

"Educare is that which makes the human values blossom from within" - Sathya Sai Baba ( Humility and Character are the Hallmark of Education - Discourse to Students 16 March 2005.)

Vision:

The Education Wing of the Sai Organisation of Australia prepares the future leaders of the Sai Organisation who are character-laden individuals with integrated personalities, blossoming physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually.

Mission Statement:

With the internal Organisational culture firmly anchored in Love amd Unity, the Education Wing in close collaboration with the Australian Institute of Sathya Sai Education in Human Values provides:

  • Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) programs for children aged 4 to 17
  • Training of SSE Teachers
  • Ongoing professional development of Teacher trainers and Teachers
  • Human Values programs for parents and for young adults.

These programs follow a nationally uniform curriculum, structure and format so that individuals understand and are in touch with Sai Mission and Teachings and are capable of articulating and delivering the core principles of SSE and EHV within the Organisation and in the Society that they live in.

Role and Functions of the Education Wing:

The role of the Education wing is to provide various educational programs on Human Values within the Sathya Sai Organisation for both children and adults that will produce future leaders of the Organisation who understand and are in touch with the divine mission and teachings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. These programs will train people to articulate and deliver the same within the Organisation.

Functions of the Education wing are as follows:

  • Planning and evaluation of Programmes based on the 5 human values of Love, Truth, Peace, Right-conduct and Non-Violence for children aged from 6 to 16.

Training of Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) Teachers and Teacher Trainers:

  • Planning, delivey and evaluation of training programmes in collaboration with the Institute of Sathya Sai Education, Australia (ISSE Aust)

Human Values programmes for Parents and Adults in the Organisation:

  • Liaise with the Ladies Wing closely in planning and delivering of Parenting Programmes. Liaise closely with the Spiritual wing in the training of Study Circle Convenors and Facilitators. Collaborate with the Institute of Sathya Sai Education, Australia (ISSE Aust) in developing programmes

Human Values Programmes for Young Adults:

  • Planning and ongoing evaluation of Programmes in Human Values for young adults aged between 16 and 35 in collaboration with the Youth Wing and the Australian Institute of Sathya Sai Education Australia (ISSE Aust).

Five Human Values:

"Students should understand how the Values of Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, and Love are interrelated. If a bulb is to shed light it has to be connected to a switch by a wire and current should flow in the wire. Peace is the bulb. Love is the light. When the current of truth is connected to the wire of Right Conduct and enters the bulb of Peace, you have the light of Love." - Sathya Sai Baba.

Love

"Love is the word which indicates the striving to realise the falsehood of the many and the reality of the One. Love identifies, hate separates. Love transposes the Self on to another and two think, speak and act as one. When Love takes in more and more within its fold, more and more entities are rendered as one. When you Love Me, you love all, for you begin to feel and know and experience that I am in all." - Sathya Sai Baba

Peace

"Peace is the most priceless possession of man. It is the sign of a virtuous character, a willingness to serve, a readiness to renounce, a calm spirit of resignation, an awareness of material wealth, of the cool agitation less lake of joy in the heart" - Sathya Sai Baba

Truth

"Truth is more fundamental than the atom. Every atom and every star manifests the Truth to those who have the eye of wisdom. What is the special feature of man? If he too lives and dies as any animal, how can his supremacy be justified? His supremacy lies in his capacity to become aware of his Truth." - Sathya Sai Baba.

Right Conduct

Every time before you do anything, you have to put to yourself the question: 'I am the indwelling divine Atma in this body. As such, is it proper for me to do this action or not?' You have also to determine whether the particular action is proper or improper. Only then will you be using the body in the right way. You dare not use the body according to your whims just because you have got it." - Sathya Sai Baba

Non-Violence

Non-Violence involves much more than abstentation from injuring living beings. One should desist from causing pain to any living being not only by his deeds but even by his words and his thoughts. One should not entertain any idea of hurting another, or humiliating another." - Sathya Sai Baba
