1. Sai National Conference 2010

- From the afternoon of Friday 11th June 2010
- To the afternoon of Monday, 14th June 2010
Many are in the process of registering their participation in the conference. The organizing committee is currently finalising the program. The conference will offer sessions across the full spectrum of the different wings of the Organisation. Emphasis will be on workshops, group discussion and will include devotional singing on a daily basis.
The following overseas guests have confirmed their attendance:
- Dr Samuel Sandweiss and his wife Sharon Sandweiss
Dr. Samuel Sandweiss, an eminent Psychiatrist from California, USA, was among the early western devotees to visit Sri Sathya Sai Baba and was drawn by His divinity. He wrote his experiences in a book titled Sai Baba: Holy Man and Psychiatrist, which was widely read by those interested in spirituality and the phenomenon of God taking human form. He had published
two other books titled Sai Baba, Spirit and Mind and With Love Man is God.
Dr Sandweiss and his wife Sharon had addressed Sai devotees at retreats and conferences in many countries. In 2009, Dr Sandweiss was the chief guest at the Convocation ceremony of Sathya Sai University, Prasanthi Nilayam and Mrs Sharon Sandweiss was one of the keynote speakers at the Ladies day celebrations at Prasanthi Nilayam.
- Rev. Father Charles Ogada
Father Ogada from Nigeria, Africa, a priest from the Holy Cross Order, associated with the Zambian Sathya Sai School experienced periods of enlightenment in his late teens and at the mere sound of Swami's name he felt the power of Sri Sathya Sai Baba and went to Prasanthi Nilayam.
Swami has blessed Father Ogada to address devotees assembled at Prasanthi Nilayam during Christmas celebrations.
Father Charles has written many articles in the journal published by Radio Sai and two such articles were on the unifying principle of Islam, Hinduism and Christianity and on the true meaning of Easter.
Father Charles will be the keynote speaker at the 2010 Australian Sai conference. He will also run workshops and address the young adults.
Mr Tappoo is a profession singer, who developed his singing talents guided by his guru Sri Anup Jalota. He is from Fiji and currently lives in Bombay, India. In the late nineties, whilst residing in New South Wales, Sumeet was actively involved in the youth activities of the Australian Sai
Organisation. He was then selected to lead the NSW young adults. On a few occasions, Sumeet had the privilege of singing in Baba's physical presence.
You may read more about the guest speakers and view photographs here .
The Sai community in Australia has a wealth of capable speakers and facilitators, who will be drawn from all states to speak/facilitate at this conference. This will include some Alumni of the Sai University in Prasanthi Nilayam currently residing in Australia.

All Work is My Work - Love@Work Bulletin №115
All the actions that you undertake must be sacred.
There should be harmony in your thought, word and deed. The proper study of mankind is man. Work is Worship, Duty is God. This was the teaching of our ancient seers. Consider all activities as an offering to God and all work as God's work. Just as two wings are essential for a bird to soar high in the sky, two wheels are needed for a cycle to move, so also, Love and Service are essential for man to reach his destination. No benefit accrues from rendering service devoid of love. Do not expect any returns for your acts of service. The satisfaction which you derive from rendering service is itself a reward.Sathya Sai Baba, 3 September 1999

The school uses the NSW Board of Studies curriculum guidelines and integrates the main-stream curriculum with Human Values. The Sai School functions on the generosity of devotees and well wishers AND the grants provided by State and Federal Governments. It is a tuition free school.
The School is a K - 6 Primary school and the current enrolment is just over 100 pupils. The building program to expand the facilities to accommodate 160 pupils was completed towards the end of 2009 and the Sai School is looking forward to an era of growth with an increase in student numbers.
The Board of Directors of the school have reviewed the current administrative structure of the school and intends expanding the position of the bursar to include the function of a business manager.

This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to influence and further develop excellent financial and management skills across our School administration. It will also provide the opportunity to join a team of dedicated workers serving Baba in providing value based education at
the Sai School. The School when established as the model school will demonstrate to other schools in Australia the benefits of integrating human values into the State School's Curriculum.
The person appointed need to perform the function of the Business Manager/ Bursar from the school premises at 9, Nullum Street, Murwillumbah. It is located in the heart of a world heritage environmental area and affords the prospect of living in a small community while having easy access to major shopping centres and airport only an hour away in Brisbane.
The selection criteria, summary of duties and responsibilities, and other relevant details are contained in this document.
Applications are to be sent to Mr. Channa Seneviratne by email (channa.seneviratne at gmail.com) or by post (32, Brandon Park Drive, Wheelers Hill VIC 3150) to reach him not later than 26th of February 2010.
Sathya Sai Primary School
1. Completion of the building expansion Program
We are pleased to announce that the Sai School, with Baba's Grace, has completed the construction of seven new classrooms and a library/learning centre. These new facilities will be put to use in the 2010 school year.
A formal opening of the new buildings is being planned and we have extended an invitation to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Hon Julia Gillard to be the chief guest on this occasion. We anticipate that this will occur within the next three months.
We now have the physical facilities which are attractive, functional and durable, which will enable the school to grow to approximately 160 pupils. The completion of the school building work is a further step in the advancement of the vision for the school - to become a model school, demonstrating the benefits of integrating human values into the standard State Education Curriculum. The school makes information on the Sai Educare Philosophy, the
teaching techniques, lesson plans and other relevant material available at no cost to assist and encourage Government and Private schools to adopt values based education.
This is a Nation Building vision which continues to be the primary service project for the Sathya Sai Organisation of Australia and PNG.
We express our gratitude to the Federal and State Governments, our Donors, our members and volunteers, who have made it possible to reach this milestone.
2. Retirement
After about eight years of full-time voluntary service to the Sai School, Bob and Ros Molloy are retiring from their respective positions as Principal (Bob) and Bursar (Ros). Motivated by the Love of Sai and His teachings, they have played a critical role in the growth of the Sai School in Australia. They had been a tower of strength to the teachers and parents of the school and will be greatly missed by the staff of the school. The School Community and Sai Organisation extend their warmest appreciation and gratitude for their selfless service over these years.
We wish the couple a relaxed second retirement.
Ros Molloy's retirement has led to the review of the school's administration, and to the creation of a new position of Business Manager/Bursar.
The School Board is now seeking applications for this position.
3. Appointment of the new School Principal
Mrs Leela Broughton has been appointed as the Principal of the Sai School from January 2010. Leela has been teaching at the school for four years, and for the last 18 months had functioned as the deputy Principal. Leela has won the support of parents, teachers, staff and pupils and her dedication will ensure the school grow to its full potential. We extend our congratulations and best wishes to her for her success and happiness in this sacred work.
4. New Structure For the Sai School
Following policy guidelines set by the Sri Sathya Sai World Foundation, the Sai School at Murwillumbah has been functioning for nearly a year under the management of the Institute of Sathya Sai Eduction Australia (ISSEA) whose director is Dr Pal Dhall.
Sathya Sai School is owned by Sathya Sai School NSW Inc., whose parent body is Sathya Sai Education in Human Values Trust of Australia.

Organisation of Australia and PNG

In winnowing, the dry outer coverings are removed from the grain. Similarly, you should also separate and isolate the seeds of bad thoughts and emotions from the good and healthy ones. Let not the seeds of bad thought sprout anywhere near you. At least from this Sankranthi day onwards, live up to the word you've given to Swami and walk along the flowery path shown by SAI. Receive in full SAI's Grace and Love. Lead your life with good thoughts, good inclinations and good ideals. Strive to attain the fruits of your studies. SAI is your 'Hridayasthaayi'. SAI is the One who grants your wishes. It is this SAI, who is your Thaai: SAI MOTHER.Sathya Sai Baba, January, 1972

What God expects from His devotee is only a pure and sacred heart.
People ascribe different names and forms to God. In fact, God is only one. He is beyond all names and forms. He takes on a name and form according to the wishes and aspirations of a particular devotee. When you contemplate on the form of Jesus and wish to see Him in that form, He manifests before you as Jesus.Sathya Sai Baba, Christmas Day, 2009

This festive season brings all prosperity to the people filling the granaries of the farmers with the newly-harvested grains in plenty. Not only the farmers, all people in general feel happy and enjoy this season. People attribute their happiness and prosperity to God. Where is God? God is everywhere. He is omnipresent--in you, above you, below you, and around you. He has no particular name or form. Neither has He birth and death. Only when there is birth will there be death also! Hence, God has no birth, no death! He is present in every living being as the embodiment of the Divine Atma. Man today is unable to realise that Atma Tattwa Atma Principle.Sathya Sai Baba, Christmas Day, 2009

"The glory of God is great. He is real, and He can be found ... Silently and surely, as you walk on the path of life, you must come to the realisation that God is the only object, the only goal that will satisfy you; for in God lies the answer to every desire of the heart."
Sincere practice of Love@Work helps us realise this supreme truth. Through simple repetitive actions Love, directed towards God, we are finding Him everyday. May these simple actions of love lead us not just unto finding Him but to verily become Him.

Birthday Message from the Central Coordinator
The Central Coordinator of the Sathya Sai Organisation of Australia and Papua New Guinea, Mr Neville Fredericks, has given a message to all the residents of Australia and Papua New Guinea, on the occasion of the 84th Birthday of Sathya Sai Baba
On 23rd of November, we celebrate the 84th birthday of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Avatar of our age.
We may ask the question: What is the purpose of His Advent?
In His own words:
I have come to light the lamp of Love in your hearts, to see that it shines day by day with added luster.
I have not come to speak on behalf of any particular path, like the Hindu path.
I have not come on any mission of publicity for any sect or creed or cause; nor have I come to collect followers for any doctrine.
I have no plan to attract devotees into my fold or any fold.
I have come to tell you of this universal unitary faith, this principle of the Universal Godhead, this path of love, this foundation of love, this duty of love, this obligation to love.
His teachings inspire us to believe in ourselves, to love ourselves for our inherent goodness, and from that firm foundation, we can see the goodness, the Godliness inherent in others.
His teachings give us the framework and the practices that we might follow to transform our lives, to become loving, tolerant and exemplary citizens of our country, concerned for the welfare of all.
Let us use this occasion of Sai Baba’s birthday to focus our attention on this most important of His teachings: the Expression of Universal Love, within our families, our homes, our workplaces, our communities, for what we are in Truth is Divine Love itself.

He thirsts for God; for he is composed of God and he cannot exist without Him.
Love is your life, your friend, your relative, your food and your everything.
Heart that is filled with love can never be polluted. Love is nectarine.
Once you fill it in your heart, the poison of evil will have no place in it."

"It shall be my endeavour to reveal Thee in my actions,

- Tagore (Gitanjali)
Being in the constant awareness of knowing that SAI is the doer is an immensely strong sadhana by itself. This constant awareness of God needs to be developed by constant spiritual practice. This practice is L@W. L@W helps us to not only be in His thoughts but also to realise that HE is the doer.
He is the one who gives us the strength to act,
He is the one who gives us the strength to Love,
He is the one and the only source of all that we are,
He is our most beloved Sai.
Love Sai.

By saturating work with love, it can be transformed into worship. When
such work is offered to God, it gets sanctified into puja (sacramental
worship). This makes it free from ego. It is also freed from the earthly
desire for success and the earthly fear of failure. When you can feel that
when you have done the work as best as you can, your puja is complete. It is
then for Him who has accepted the puja to confer on you what He considers
best. This attitude will make the work unattached. Regular practice of this
discipline will render the consciousness clear and pure. Without this
practice, however prospective your career might be, however much you may
accumulate the wherewithal of a comfortable life, to whatever heights of
authority you may have climbed through the exercise of intelligence, your
gains shall be nothing, unless your every activity is suffused with the
Divine purity, that is inherent in consciousness.

2009 Eduction Retreat
National Education Week, 2009
At the Education Retreat held in Canberra in August 2007, it was agreed that during the 3rd week in August of every year, the Australian Sai Organisation will celebrate "Education Week". Our focus during this week will be on Sathya Sai Education which involves all the five wings of the Organisation. This year the National Education week is scheduled from 17th to 23rd August 2009.
The Education Week will be preceded by Education Retreat that will be held in Canberra during 15th & 16th of August 2009. The theme for this retreat is "Pathways to Self-Discovery".
There is a call for Abstracts, and a flyer about the retreat is available for download.
Further informaation and registration forms for this retreat will be available shortly.
Further information about the retreat will be available on the Institute of Sathya Sai Education Website.
Suggested activities for the Education Week:
The theme is on Sathya Sai Education and not on Sai Spiritual Education (SSE). The aim of the week is for all devotees to gain a thorough understanding of how Sathya Sai Education weaves into every activity of every Wing within the Organisation. Therefore, intense focus and participation by all the wings in the National Education Week is highly recommended.
Discussions, reflections, workshops or talks are some suggested activities to fully raise awareness on the following:
- Spiritual Wing - How study circles and Dynamic Parenting workshops lead to self-discovery
- Education Wing - How SSE classes for all the groups help not just the children but also the teachers in self-discovery.
- Service Wing - How social service is a pathway for self-discovery.
- Ladies Wing - How Love@Home program is a pathway for self-discovery.
- Youth Wing - How Love@Work program is a pathway for self-discovery.
National Walk for Values
On Saturday, March 28, Walks for Values were held in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney. Perth held its Walk on Sunday, March 29, as this suited local condtions better.
Over 4000 peoples from all walks of life celebrated the five human values of Truth, Right Conduct, Love, Peace and Non-violence. These values are the core values promoted by Sathya Sai Baba in his teachings and talks. It is these values which give true humanness, and give a life suffused with peace and harmony, and a peaceful co-existence among all persons, cultures, societies and nations.
Society and the individual are inextricably linked, and the individual's welfare is bound up in the welfare of society as a whole. Secular society can only function well when the values are practiced and honoured by individuals.
The laws which govern society are based on the five human values. In commerce and business there is a great reliance on adherence to right action and truth. Trust in each other quickly diminishes if truth is not practiced. Neville Fredericks, Central Coordinator, Sathya Sai Organisation of Australia and PNG, in his address to the National Walk for Values
The simple act of holding up placards and banners with the five values is enough to remind all who see them that these are fundamental to what and who we are as human beings and as Australians. They enhance all aspects of our society - personal, family, work, sport and governance, and the walk celebrates these in a fun and interactive way. Their practice helps to achieve a just and sustainable society despite its increasing complexity and ongoing change. So as we walk, let us all reflect on these values, and how we can demonstrate them to others through our daily actions at home, at work and in all our relationships. Professor Roger Packham, University of Western Sydney

National Walk for Values
On Saturday, March 28, Walks for Values will be held in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney. Perth will hold its Walk on Sunday, March 29, to suit local needs.
Each of these walks will carry banners, placards, leaflets, balloons and have musical accompaniment with bands, drummers, and dancers. The walks will promote and celebrate these five values which are inherent in all Australians. It is in this spirit of celebration, that we will draw attention to the values, towards all that is tolerant, caring, unifying and peaceful in society without seeking to promote any individual religion or philosophy.
Our National Walk for Values is not only service to Australian society and culture, it is also service to the one who is resident in every one's heart. We are not separate from society, for whatever we do for society, we do for ourselves. With every step in our Walk for Values we promote the values and deepen our understanding of who and what we are. It is only when we know who and what we are that we can take the message of Sai to the wider community. This is nation building, for the five values are latent in us all, which resonates in our hearts as we walk.
Economic and social change without spiritual transformation will be of no value; society will only prosper when the five values are elicited, practised and celebrated. Sai has said, 'About me, there is no need to speak; spread the message of the five values'. The Walk is an avenue for us to take Sai's teachings to the community.
These are times of challenge for all Australians. Recent bushfires in Victoria, floods in Queensland, and economic challenges have confronted all Australians. Now is the appropriate time for Australians to hear the message about the five values and celebrate the inherent goodness they reveal. This is nation building in which we will celebrate and draw our communities to the urgent need to practice and live up to the five values.
We encourage all Sai devotees, as far as practicable, to join with their family and friends in this walk to demonstrate their belief in the five human values. Those participating are kindly requested to register, if they have not done so already, in the Walk online at www.nationalwalkforvalues.org , or at centers and groups where registration forms are available. This will assist the organisers to plan the event effectively. Those who are unable to pre-register can also register on that day at the venue for the Walk.
2010 Sai National Conference
The next Sai National Conference will take place in Sleeman Sports Complex, Brisbane from 11th June to 14th June 2010. The conference organizing committee has selected the theme: ONE - CELEBRATE THE EXPERIENCE.
The theme covers a broad spectrum of spirituality, beginning with Unity of Thought Word and Deed (the oneness) and the ultimate to be One with Divinity. The heart of the theme is Swami's axiom "There is only one religion, the religion of love; there is only one language, the language of the Heart; There is only one cast, the caste of humanity; there is only one God, He is omnipresent." The attached flyer provides these details.

Victorian Bushfires
The recent bushfires in the state of Victoria have caused massive loss of life and property. This is the worst natural disaster that has claimed many lives. Many towns Northeast of Melbourne are completely destroyed which includes Kinglake, Marysville, Narbethong and Strathewen.
We reach out to the many Victorians who have lost friends, family and loved ones, and those who have lost their homes or suffered terrible injuries. We send our Love and prayers to all those affected by the Victorian fires.
The Commonwealth and Victorian State Governments have commandeered all resources at their disposal to contain the bush fires and offer assistance to the victims. They have set up a Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund along with the Red Cross, and the majority of Australians are donating to this fund and to other relief agencies.
The National Service Coordinator along with the Victorian Regional chairs will coordinate all assistance the Sai Organisation can provide to these victims. Our aim is to identify a few families that we could help to re-establish their lives over the next 6 months or so. We feel that this is more in keeping with our objective to give Heart to Heart Service. The National Service Coordinator will also coordinate the efforts of Sai devotees in Victoria and beyond for donating blood.
Sai devotees who are interested in providing assistance can either send their donations through the established charities announced in the media OR can channel their donations through the Sai Organisation. Funds received by the Trust will be used for the long term assistance that will be provided through the Victorian Sai Organisation.
Those interested in contributing through the Sai Organisation are requested to send cheques/money orders made payable to SRI SATHYA SAI WORLD FOUNDATION, AUSTRALIA with a note to indicate that it is for the Victorian Bushfire relief fund and should include donor's name and his/her residential address. Mr. Anandakumar will acknowledge all payments received.
All cheques/money orders with the note containing the details above (Victorian Bushfire, donors name and residential address) are to be sent to:
N. Anandakumar
43A Wentworth Road
Strathfield NSW 2135.
Donations to provide assistance to the Bushfire victims will be received till 31st of March 2009.
