Sai Baba

Born on November 23, 1926, for over 80 years, Sathya Sai Baba has instigated and inspired global activities for the uplift of all humanity. He is lovingly referred to as “Swami”, “Sai Baba”, “Bhagavan”, or “Sai Ma (Mother)” by His followers. His vision and selfless service in the fields of Education, Health and Rural Village service and improvement have been pursued right from the inception of his mission. They are unique and targeted towards transparent results. These activities are based on and reflect the transparent, universal principles of Truth, Righteousness, Love, Peace and Non-violence. Baba names these as universal ‘Human Values’ and affirms ‘Duty is God and Work is Worship’, “Love All, Serve All”, and “Help Ever, Hurt Never”. The true religion of mankind is the ‘Religion of Love’.

In Australia, the Sai Spiritual Movement started in an informal way some time in early 1970s with devotees meeting in homes in most capitals of Australia. Formal adoption into the Sathya Sai Organisation worldwide occurred in the early 1980s. The small Sai Centres consisted of Hindus, Buddhists, Christians and Spiritualists who came together to study the teachings of Sathya Sai Baba, sing devotional songs from all religions, and join in selfless service activities conducted by the Sai Organisation. These groups used to meet usually on Thursdays in somebody's house and carried out prayers, singing Bhajans and engaging in service activities in line with Sai Codes of Conduct. Today the Sathya Sai Organisation has spread to every state, with 104 Centres and Groups in Australia and one in Papua New Guinea.

Activites in Australia

The Sathya Sai Organisation is led by a Central Coordinator who is assisted by Councillors from every state. The Sathya Sai Organisation has five wings which conduct activities in every state in Australia and Papua New Guinea. These are the Spiritual Wing, the Service Wing, the Education Wing, the Ladies Wing and the Youth Wing, Sai Young Adults. The national service project of our Organisation is a human values school, the Sathya Sai Primary School, located in Murwillumbah, NSW. This is a free, non-denominational school, transmitting human values in every subject.

Sathya Sai Baba has not come to found any new religion or philosophy. He has come to show all humanity the foundation love has in every life, indeed all life. In the words of Sathya Sai Baba,

I have come not to disturb or destroy any Faith, but to confirm each in his own Faith, so that the Christian becomes a better Christian, the Muslim a better Muslim and a Hindu a better Hindu. I have come to reconstruct the ancient highway to God; to instruct all in the essence of the scriptures, to shower on all this precious gift; to protect the Eternal Righteousness and to preserve it. My Mission is to serve happiness and so I am always happy to come among you, not once but twice, thrice, as often as you want me. To set right those who have taken to wrong path and to protect the good people, Sai will be born again and again.
